Mohammed Al Mana College of Medical Sciences conducted Cancer Awareness activity to support the cancer patients and make the students, staff and the public to be aware of the particular disease, types, causes and treatment. Major focus was on the psycho - social support for the patients and their family members. There was a huge support and participation from the students of the preparatory year, multiple booths (28) from students, each booth represent a type of cancer for example Lung cancer, prostate cancer, uterus cancer, blood cancer and cancer and so on. Each presenter explained the cause of the selected type of cancer, early and late symptoms, Medication, supportive treatments and the psycho-social support to be provided. The Cancer institute joined us in the event, to displayed the latest supportive measures in the treating Cancer, Available treatment in the Government hospitals and PHC’s. It was an open event for public, as always Mohammed Al Mana College of Medical Sciences encourages community service. Student Affairs committee (Dr.Indo Benna, Dr.Yahia Al Dawood, Mrs.Pavithra Durairaj and Ms. Amal Al Senan), Work on the current updates, carefully select the topics that are indeed and supportive for the educational purposes for the students and staff. Cancer Awareness activity was one of the crowns in the success stories of student affairs.
